It’s right up there in the difficulty stakes alongside getting your child to wear a hat and potty training. But it’s not all doom and gloom… We have five tips on safe suncreening.

1. Use a spray application. It’s easier to apply and you can actually spray your little ones while they are running away from you.

2. Apply sunscreen at home before you leave the house. Do it when changing your baby’s nappy and applying powder etc. They may just it think it is part of their routine and not part of your evil plan.

3. Always apply cream to yourself and older children first. Your toddler may well think, “Hey look – they’re all doing it, it can’t be so bad.”

4. Some sunscreens come in colours and stick forms. Let your children apply their own sunscreen with their very own sunscreen sticks.

5. No sunscreen, no swimming. This may sound harsh but it’s a pretty full-proof way to make sure everyone is queuing up for sunscreen.
